My first experience with Twin Cities real estate began with a condo purchase in 2007 in my early twenties. I started looking for a property after being encouraged to do so by friends. The property was eventually foreclosed upon in 2009. During this time, I felt I didn’t have the necessary information to make an informed property purchase that fit into my overall financial goals. Additionally, the homeowner’s association wasn’t well managed which resulted in paying various fees outside of the monthly HOA fees, which were ultimately refunded after the foreclosure.
Needless to say, this experience was less than ideal and I knew there had to be a better way. Years later the opportunity to be on the other side of real estate transactions presented itself when a friend asked if I wanted to get licensed with her. After becoming a licensed realtor, I realized two things: First, there is a better way and the realtor creates it. Second, I genuinely enjoyed helping people by leveraging my banking background and real estate training to provide value to clients.
