About Longfellow Minneapolis, MN

Located in southeast Minneapolis, Longfellow is a defined community with five smaller neighborhoods. The area is named after Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a renowned American poet, popularly recognized for is poem, Song of Hiawatha. The poem brought worldwide fame to Minnehaha Falls, which is a popular attraction in the neighboring Nokomis community. Longfellow offers an abundance of beautiful natural scenery with its many parks, and miles of biking and walking paths. The Hiawatha neighborhood is bordered to the south by Minnehaha Park, and sits along the west shoreline of the Mississippi River, along with the Cooper and Howe neighborhoods. Residents of the Longfellow community also enjoy the 5.7 miles of walking and bike paths on the Midtown Greenway which runs through the Longfellow and Seward neighborhoods.
