Extending east from the Mississippi River to Summit Hill, the Macalester-Groveland community is just a short drive from Downtown St. Paul. Macalester-Groveland, often referred to as “Mac Groveland” is St. Paul’s 14th District and contains a mix of single family homes, apartments, and vibrant commercial corridors. The Summit Avenue Historic District is settled in this community, where the picturesque streets are lined by magnificent mansions, including the Minnesota Governor’s Residence. Grand Avenue is another popular area that runs through the heart of this community. It boasts many popular coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques, and is the site of Grand Old Days, an annual summer festival.
